Introduction to LoRaWAN Asset Tracking Using the Helium Network
Adding a notification alert
As demonstrated in Module 2, it’s easy to add email and text message alerts to any TagoIO Dashboard. Click the “Actions'' icon from the left side menu and then click Add Action.
Enter the following information:
- Action name, such as “Tracker Button Alert”
- Select Variable
- Select Send SMS as the type of action
- Enter phone number
- Enter alert message

Next, click Create my Action, then select the device and define the trigger event. Select the “My tracker” device from the dropdown menu. In order to add a trigger on the tracker button press using a Browan Object Locator, set the variable to button_trigger_event and value equal to 1. Remember that you can see the full list of variables for any device by clicking on the “Buckets” menu, selecting the specific device, and viewing the “Variables” tab.
Configure a single device action
Finally, click “Save” in the lower right corner. Now a text message is triggered any time the tracker button is pressed while the device is within Helium network range.
