Getting connected with the Helium community
Getting connected with the Helium community, deploying the Helium network, and staying informed about Helium network developments.
Like many blockchain projects, the Helium network is decentralized: it is not controlled by any one company or individual. The Helium project was started by Helium, Inc. (now an independent company called Nova Labs), which has handed over the stewardship, brand assets, and intellectual property to the Helium Foundation. The Helium Foundation is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit. For more information see their website: https://www.helium.foundation/
In addition to following the developments on the Helium Foundation website and source code progress at the Helium GitHub repositories, the majority of the community uses the Helium Discord channel to stay up-to-date. There are many specific groups and channels covering everything from city-specific deployments to IoT applications, IoT tools, and a wide range of solution providers.
