Installing and configuring the gateway

Set Up ChirpStack Gateway OS

This section explains how to use the ChirpStack gateway-config utility and work through the wizard to configure the ChirpStack Gateway OS.

  1. Ensure you have connected to the Raspberry Pi as described in the previous section Connect to the Gateway.

  2. At the command prompt enter:

    sudo gateway-config
    
  3. Enter the password:

    admin
    
  4. Select the item: Setup LoRa concentrator shield and press Enter.

  5. Select your shield. If you are using the LoRa Corecell Gateway Reference Design, select the shield labelled SX1302 LoRa® CoreCell (USB).

    Warning

    There are two options for the SX1302 LoRa CoreCell, SX1302 LoRa® CoreCell (USB) and SX1302 LoRa® CoreCell. Make sure you have selected the USB option.

    If you are using another shield, select your shield.

    Press Enter.

  6. Select the Channel-plan configuration that matches your region. Press Enter.

    1. If you selected channel plan US915 or AU915, a second Channel-plan configuration screen displays. Select 2 Channels 8 – 15 + 65.

  7. Confirm the Channel Plan configuration by pressing Enter.

  8. Press Enter to confirm the Restart ChirpStack Concentrator message.

  9. The Configuration screen displays again.

  10. Press the right arrow key to select Quit, then press Enter.

The ChirpStack Gateway OS is now installed on the Raspberry Pi and configured to work with your concentrator shield.

In the next section you will check the gateway is up and running and start using its admin portal through your web browser.
