Join Your Devices to the Network

Join the Temperature and Humidity Sensor

  1. Click Applications in the menu on the left.

  2. Click on the Temperature/Humidity Application you created earlier.

  3. The devices registered to this application appear. Click on the link in the DevEUI field of the Temperature and Humidity device.

  4. Select the Activation tab for the device, it will state This device has not (yet) been activated.

  5. Pull the plastic tab out of the motion device to connect the battery.

  6. After a few minutes, refresh the page and select the Activation tab again and you should see the door/window sensor has come online.

    Warning

    If you do not see the online status after five minutes, check you entered the NwkKey into the Application Key field, and make sure the DevEUI was correctly entered.

Now that you have all the devices joined to the gateway, you can configure ChirpStack to make sense of the data coming from the device(s) and to populate dashboards, one per application.

You’ll do this in the next section.
